About this step down nurse gift
A step down nurse is someone who left bedside work by choice and moved into a role with more predictable hours, often in clinic, education, or a leadership position. They often carry real experience from years on the floor, and that history can feel like something they have to explain to people. A gift that says step down nurse tells them their move counts as nursing, not a retreat from it. The practical side matters too: they may still wear scrubs to meetings or clinics, keep a mug at a desk that used to be a break room, or pull on a hoodie for a long drive home after a late training session. A tee or mug with their title is a quiet nod that the years on the floor still belong to them. Adding their credential, such as RN or their clinic's name, makes it theirs in particular.
