About this art professor gift
An art professor spends the semester reading student portfolios, staying late for critiques, and talking through why a line works or doesn't. The gifts that land are the ones that acknowledge that mix of teaching and making. A hoodie for the studio, where paint and charcoal end up on everything, or a mug for the office where office hours happen. Put their title on it, and add the department, the school or a studio name on a second line so it reads as theirs and not a generic teacher shirt. Dark tees hold up well for a professor who works in printmaking or sculpture, and light tees suit someone who teaches drawing and gets clean sleeves by the end of the day. If you're buying for a retirement or the end of a long run, the second line can carry the year they started or the number of years taught, and a mug with that on it becomes the one they keep on the shelf.
