About this artist gift
Artists live in their own kind of mess: paint on the cuffs, charcoal in the creases of their hands, a sketchbook that goes everywhere. Which means the gifts that work are the ones they can wear while they work, or drink from while they stare at a blank canvas. A tee they won't mind getting paint on, a hoodie for cold studio mornings, a mug that sits next to the brush jar. What makes it theirs is the detail. Add their name, the medium they love, whether that's watercolor, oil, ceramics or pencil, or the name of their studio or Etsy shop. A hobbyist who paints on weekends deserves the same treatment as someone who sells their work, and a shirt that says what they make tells people exactly what to ask about. For a kid who's always drawing, there are kids tees too, which makes a good first artist's smock for the art table.
All artist gifts →- A work tee with their mediumChange the second line to Watercolor, Oil Painter or Printmaker, and give them a tee that's meant to get splattered.
- A studio hoodiePut their name or studio name on a hoodie for early mornings in a cold garage or spare room turned workspace.
- A mug for the brush-water shelfAn 11 oz mug with their name keeps their coffee clearly separate from the jar of rinse water, which is a real risk.
- A kids tee for the little one who's always drawingPut their name on a kids tee they can wear to art class or the kitchen table, where the marker collection lives.
