About this birthing nurse gift
Birthing nurses work some of the longest and most emotional shifts in the hospital, often coming off a delivery that ran through the night and walking straight back into the next one. The gifts they keep tend to be the ones that make the off hours easier: a soft tee for the drive home, a hoodie for the chilly break room, a mug that's clearly theirs so it doesn't wander down the hall. Labor and delivery nurses also have a strong sense of their own unit and the families they've shared a room with, so a shirt that says birthing nurse with their name on it feels personal rather than generic. Add their unit or their credential, like RN or BSN, if you know it, and the gift starts to reflect the work they actually do. If you're buying for a whole labor and delivery team, one design with everyone's name on their own shirt makes a warmer gift than another box of donuts. Nurses Week falls in early May every year, and nursing school graduations in May and December are the other busy times to order.
