About this chef de partie gift
A chef de partie runs a station on a busy line, usually grill, sauce, fish, pastry or garde manger, and they're the one a sous chef calls on when the tickets stack up. The shifts are long, the kitchen is hot, and the work is mostly done standing up with a knife in hand. A gift that acknowledges the station they run and the line they're proud of lands better than a generic chef shirt. Put their station or their restaurant's name on the second line of a tee or hoodie, and it becomes theirs. A mug works well for the prep-time coffee before service. If you're buying for a whole kitchen brigade, one design with each cook's name on their own shirt makes a better gift for a team of hard-working people than another round of takeout.
