About this chief development officer gift
A chief development officer usually spends the day asking people for money, which is harder than it sounds. They write grant proposals, sit across from donors, plan the campaign that is supposed to close next quarter, and get thanked for their work only by the people who received the gift. A gift that acknowledges the fundraising grind tends to land well. A tee or hoodie with their title on it, paired with a second line for the organization or the campaign year, shows you know what the job involves. Many of these roles come with a credential, so if they hold one, such as CFRE, add it. If you don't know the exact credential, say their credential or leave it off. The 11 oz mug is a good choice for the office, where a stack of coffee-stained mugs is the usual state of affairs. Kids and baby onesies are less obvious, but a family that has been through a capital campaign often appreciates a little humor on the next generation.
