About this comic gift
A comic is someone who makes a room laugh for a living, which means their days run on timing, rehearsal and a lot of late nights in clubs or green rooms. The gifts that land with them tend to be the ones that poke a little fun at the job itself: a line about bombing, a joke only other comics would get, or a bit they've been working on that you've heard them run in the car. Their name or a stage name on a shirt makes it theirs, and a comic who's just started out often wears a tee to every open mic. A hoodie suits the cold walk from the parking lot to a basement club. A mug is for the morning after a set, when the coffee is doing the work the audience used to. Stand-up is a crowded field, so a shirt that shows you know the scene, even a little, is the detail they'll notice first.
