About this elevator attendant gift
An elevator attendant is a rare job these days, which is part of why it's worth celebrating. Most buildings have automated lifts now, so the people who still run an elevator by hand, greet riders, keep the car clean and know which floor the tenant in 12B likes to be taken to, are a small group with a lot of pride in the work. The job often involves long hours standing in one place, a uniform worn with care, and a steady patience with people who are rushing or lost. A gift that acknowledges that small craft lands well. Put their title on a tee or hoodie for their days in the car, or on a mug for the break room where they sit between runs. You can also add the building name or their shift on a second line, which makes the design feel like it belongs to their own workplace and nobody else's.
