About this paid intern gift
A paid intern is usually a student or recent grad who's trying to prove something in a job that doesn't yet pay much in cash but pays a lot in experience. They're often up early, carrying coffee, sitting in on meetings they're not quite sure they belong in, and trying to figure out where they want to end up. A gift that acknowledges that hustle lands well. A hoodie for the cold office or the commute, a mug for the desk where they're still learning the coffee machine, or a tee for the weekend they're finally off. Adding their field, the company's city or the year they started turns a generic intern shirt into one that's clearly theirs. Many internships wrap up in late summer, so a gift timed to the last week of the program can mark the moment they finished and got something out of it.
