About this phd internship gift
A PhD intern is usually a graduate student or early-career researcher spending a summer or semester inside a company, lab or agency, often far from the campus where they've been living for years. The long hours go to projects that may not be published for a while, so the gifts they keep tend to be the ones that acknowledge the work in a light way. A tee with PhD intern on it is a good conversation starter for the first week at a new site, and a hoodie fits the air-conditioned office or the late-night lab. A mug suits the early coffee and the first draft that refuses to cooperate. Adding the field, the company or the program year makes the gift specific to their path. Many internships also end in a final presentation or a return to school, so a shirt or mug can mark that milestone and remind them where the summer went.
