About this summer college intern gift
A summer college intern is usually living out of a dorm fridge or a sublet, working a desk or a shop floor for ten weeks, and trying to look like they know what they're doing in every meeting. A shirt or hoodie with their title on it is the kind of gift they'll actually wear on the commute and in the first week of fall semester, when they're back on campus and want to remember the summer. The job itself is a good hook: interns are often the first to get coffee orders wrong and the first to fix a spreadsheet nobody else wanted. A mug for the morning routine works too, since most of their summer will start with an early train or a long drive. Add the company's city or the year, if you know them, and the shirt becomes about this specific summer rather than a generic internship. Interns tend to finish in August, so a gift timed for the last week of the internship lands right when the job is wrapping up.
