About this unit nurse manager gift
A unit nurse manager runs a whole floor, which means they're the one who schedules the shifts, backs up the staff on a bad night and still ends the day with a stack of charting to finish. They tend to be the last person to take a break and the first to notice when someone on the team is struggling. A gift for them should acknowledge that leadership load without getting too serious about it. A tee or hoodie with their title on the front and their unit underneath, such as ICU, Med-Surg or Labor and Delivery, says you know exactly what they oversee. Add their name or the credential they worked for, like RN or MSN, and it becomes theirs rather than a generic management shirt. A mug for the office works well too, since the coffee is usually cold by the time they get to it. Nurses Week falls May 6 to 12 every year, and it's a natural moment to recognize a manager who spent the year holding the unit together.
