Official Department of Bookbinding Seal mug

About this bookbinding gift

Bookbinders tend to be the people who can't walk past a stack of old paper without wanting to fold, sew or glue something into a book. They spend hours at a bench with bone folders, awls, linen thread and paste, and they're usually the first to notice a loose signature or a cracked spine on a library copy. A gift for them lands when it shows you know that world: a tee for the studio or the workshop, a hoodie for the cold basement where the press lives, a mug for the coffee that gets set down between sewing stations. Bookbinding is a hobby that often comes with a whole circle of fellow binders and paper obsessives, so a shirt that works as an inside joke can be a nice fit. You can personalize most designs with a name, a studio name or a year they started, which turns a generic craft shirt into one that belongs to them. If you're buying for a bookbinding class or guild, the Team Shop lets you order one design and put each member's name on their own shirt.
