About this igil gift
An igil is a two-stringed bowed instrument from Mongolia, played upright on the knee with a horsehair bow and often carved with a horse-head scroll. The person who plays one is likely a Mongolian musician, a folk ensemble member, or someone who learned it through a cultural program or family. A gift for them should acknowledge the instrument and the music it carries. Because this word is uncommon, it's worth thinking about the person behind it: a performer who may practice early mornings, a teacher, or a student just starting out. A shirt or hoodie with the word igil on it signals that you know what they play. Adding their name or a year in the second line makes it personal. A mug suits the practice room or the workbench where they tune and rehearse. Choose the product that fits how they spend their time, and let the design simply say what they love.
