About this upcycling gift
Someone who upcycles is the person who keeps a jar of old buttons, turns a pallet into a shelf, and can't walk past a curb full of furniture without checking it for parts. Their projects tend to be practical and a little stubborn: a sweater cut down into a vest, a dresser given a second life with paint and new pulls, a pair of jeans rebuilt into a tote. They already know a secondhand find is a better story than a new purchase, so a gift that celebrates that instinct lands well. Upcycling shirts and hoodies suit the workshop, the thrift run and the weekend market, where they'll be wearing something made the same way their projects are. A mug works for the bench, where coffee and sawdust tend to share the same table. Choose the design that fits their style, then type their name or the word they use for their craft into the second line so it sounds like theirs rather than a catalog's.
All upcycling gifts →- A tee for thrift runsA light or dark tee is easy to wear to the estate sale, the flea market and the workshop. Add their name on the second line.
- A hoodie for the cold workshopGarages and studios get cold in winter, and a hoodie keeps them warm while they sand and paint.
- A mug for the benchAn 11 oz mug with their name keeps coffee nearby while they plan the next project.
- A kids tee for a young makerIf they're teaching a child to repair and reuse, a kids tee gives the kid a matching badge of the hobby.
