About this assonet gift
Assonet is a village in Freetown, Massachusetts, a small place where people tend to know each other and stay put. A shirt with Assonet on it is the kind of thing a local wears to the town fair, the high school game or the diner on a Saturday morning, and it's the kind of gift that lands with someone who has roots there or left and kept missing it. The village name is short and distinctive, so it reads well across a chest or on the side of a mug. You can add a second line for a street, a graduating class or the year they moved away, which makes the design theirs rather than a generic town shirt. For someone who grew up there, a hoodie for the chilly months or a mug for the kitchen works well. Small-place gifts often land best when they feel personal, so a name or a year underneath helps a lot.
