About this benton city gift
Benton City is a small town in south-central Washington, out where the Yakima and Columbia rivers meet and the land is mostly orchards, vineyards and wide open sky. People who grew up there tend to carry it with them, whether they still live nearby or ended up in Seattle or Spokane. A shirt or mug with the town's name is a way to say where you're from without a long explanation. For someone who moved away, it's a small piece of home. For someone who never left, it's a simple way to claim the place. Because the town is small, a gift with the name on it often starts a conversation with strangers who know it too. Add a year, a high school class, or a family name on the second line and the design turns from a town shirt into something that's clearly theirs.
