About this bustins island gift
Bustins Island is a small island in Casco Bay off Maine, reached by ferry, and the people who live there or spend summers there tend to be fiercely attached to it. A shirt with the island's name is how they carry it with them, whether that's to a mainland job, a college dorm, or a summer cottage somewhere else. A ferry ride is part of the story, so a gift that nods to the water, the lobster boats and the slow pace of island life lands well. Pair the island name with a second line for a year, a family name or a street, and it becomes a keepsake rather than a souvenir. Because the island is small, many people who have a connection to it know exactly what it means, which makes a shirt or mug a warm, personal choice for anyone who has been coming back for years.
