About this canandaigua gift
Canandaigua is a small city at the north end of Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York, and people who grew up there tend to carry it with them. A shirt with the city name is how they claim it at a reunion, at a college campus far from home, or on a trip to the lake when the summer crowds arrive. Many of the people you'd buy for have a connection that's personal rather than touristy: a high school they went to, a family that has been there for generations, or a lake they learned to swim in. Those details are what make a Canandaigua gift land. Use the second line to add a year they graduated, a street, or a nickname the family used. For someone who moved away, a mug with the city name on it is a small daily reminder of where they're from. For a local who never leaves, a hoodie for the lake's cold mornings works just as well.
