About this charter oak gift
Charter Oak is a name with real history behind it. The Charter Oak tree in Hartford, Connecticut is famous for hiding the colony's charter in 1687, and the name has been claimed by neighborhoods, schools and businesses across the state since then. A Charter Oak shirt speaks to someone who grew up in or around Hartford, or who simply loves the story of a tree that saved a charter. Because the name carries local meaning, the details matter. A design that reads Charter Oak with a second line for a neighborhood, a school year or a family name feels personal rather than generic. For someone who has moved away, a Charter Oak mug is a daily reminder of home. For a student heading off to college, a hoodie with the name and year marks a fresh start that still carries their roots. Check the preview before you order so the spacing looks right for the word you chose.
