About this decoy gift
Decoy is a small town, and the kind of person who grows up in one tends to carry it with them. Whether they're the one who stayed to run the family business or the one who left and keeps coming back for the summer festival, a shirt with the town name is a way of saying where they're from. Small places often have their own jokes, landmarks and ways of saying things, so the detail that lands is the one only locals would catch. Add a second line with a street, a year they were born, or the high school class they graduated from, and the shirt becomes theirs. A hoodie works well for the cold months and a mug suits the kitchen table where local news gets read. Anyone who has lived somewhere small knows the gift is really about belonging, and a shirt that names the place they belong to says it quietly.
