About this eight mile gift
Eight Mile is a road on the edge of Detroit, and it's more than a line on a map. It's the name of a stretch of highway that split the city from its northern suburbs, and it has carried a lot of meaning for people who grew up in Metro Detroit. A shirt with Eight Mile on it is a way for someone to say where they're from without a long explanation. The best gifts for this person tend to be the ones that feel like a piece of home: a hoodie for a cold Michigan winter, a mug for a morning coffee, a tee for a game or a summer cookout. Adding a neighborhood, a high school class year, or a family nickname to the second line makes the design theirs. If they've moved away, the shirt becomes the thing they reach for when they miss the drive home. Either way, it's a gift that says you know exactly where they come from.
