About this el cerrito gift
El Cerrito is a small city in the East Bay, tucked between Berkeley and Richmond, and people who grew up there tend to carry it with them wherever they end up. A shirt that says El Cerrito is how they claim the place, whether they still live nearby or moved across the country years ago. Because it's a close-knit city rather than a famous one, a generic tourist tee often misses the point; what lands is something that feels like it came from someone who knows the town. Add a second line for a neighborhood, a school, or the year they graduated from high school, and the shirt starts to mean something specific to them. For the transplant who misses home, a mug with the city name is the daily reminder of where they're from. Tees for kids and baby onesies let a family pass the name down, and a hoodie works well for the cold mornings that still come even in the Bay Area.
