About this fort knox gift
Fort Knox is the army post in Kentucky where the Armor Center and Army Human Resources Command are based, and the gold depository is a few miles away, so a shirt with Fort Knox on it usually goes to someone who served there, trained there, or has family who did. Soldiers who passed through for armor training or a permanent change of station tend to keep the post name the way other people keep a hometown. A shirt that says Fort Knox on the front and their unit or the year they were stationed underneath gives them something specific rather than a generic base tee. The same goes for a veteran who now lives far away: a mug on their desk or a hoodie for the cold is a quiet way of saying you remember where they were. If you're not sure of their dates or unit, the second line is a good place to leave a question open and ask them what they'd like it to say.
