About this haiku gift
Haiku is a short form of Japanese poetry built on a strict count of syllables, seventeen of them across three lines, with a seasonal image and a sharp turn in the last line. The people who love it are usually poets, teachers, students of Japanese literature, and anyone who has ever counted syllables on a bus ride home. A haiku shirt is a small joke only they will fully get, which is part of its charm. For a teacher, a mug reading Haiku works in the staff room; for a writer who spends evenings with a notebook, a hoodie feels right for cold nights at the desk. Add a line of their own choosing, such as a favorite season or a poet's name, and the design starts to sound like their voice rather than a dictionary entry.
