About this hang gliding gift
A hang glider spends the best part of a day in the air watching the world fall away below, then spends the rest of the week telling anyone who will listen about it. Many of the people who fly are hooked on the wind, the quiet and the long slow turns over a hillside, and they tend to gather at the same few launch sites with the same battered wings. A hang gliding shirt is how they're recognized at the field and how they start the conversation with a stranger in the parking lot. Add a second line with the site they fly most, the year they soloed, or a nickname from the club, and the gift becomes about their flying rather than a generic sport. Hoodies suit the cold launch mornings, and a mug works for the early coffee before the wind picks up. Hang gliding is also a sport where the people who care most tend to be the ones who help you learn, so a shirt that names their hobby is a small thank-you for the years they spent teaching others.
