About this hobucken gift
Hobucken is a small unincorporated community in Beaufort County, North Carolina, along the Pamlico River, and most of the people who carry that name grew up somewhere quiet where everybody knows which dock is whose. A Hobucken shirt is a way of saying where you're from when the place is too small to show up on most maps. It works for a homecoming, a family reunion, or the friend who left for a job in a bigger city and still talks about the river. Because the name is unusual, many people will ask about it, which gives the shirt a built-in story. Use the second line for something personal, like a year or a family name, so the design belongs to one person rather than a sign. For someone who has moved away, a Hobucken mug is a small, daily reminder of home, and for a kid born there, a onesie puts the town on their first outfit.
