About this howardstown gift
Howardstown is a small place, and the people who grew up there tend to carry it with them. A shirt with the town name is the easy way to say where you're from when you're far away, or to start a conversation with someone who recognizes it. Because it's a small town, the people who'd wear this are likely to be proud of it in a low-key way: at the church supper, the high school reunion, the diner on the highway. A hoodie suits the cold months and a mug suits the kitchen table, and both make sense for someone who still checks the local news. Since I don't know much about Howardstown's specifics, the strongest move is to add something that's really theirs, like the year they graduated from high school, their street, or the family name. That turns a place name into a memory they'll recognize at once.
