About this kalamazoo gift
Kalamazoo people tend to be proud of a town that's bigger than its reputation. It's a city of about 75,000 in southwest Michigan, with a lot of the Western Michigan University crowd, a downtown that's worth an evening, and a name that visitors can't stop mentioning. A Kalamazoo shirt is how someone who grew up there, or went to school there, or just loves the place, wears it without having to explain. Plenty of people leave and come back, and a hoodie or mug is a good reminder of home for the one who ended up in another state. For a college kid at WMU, a Kalamazoo tee is a clear way to say where they're from. Mention a neighborhood or the year they graduated on the second line and it stops being a souvenir and becomes their story.
