About this lame deer gift
Lame Deer is a small town on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in southeastern Montana, the seat of the tribal government and a place where a lot of family history gets lived. Someone who grew up there, or who has family there, may carry it with them wherever they end up, and a shirt with the town name on it is one way to say so. Because the town is small, the details that matter most are personal: the family they belong to, the school they went to, the year they left or came back. A shirt or mug that carries a second line with a family name, a class year or a return date turns a place name into something that belongs to them. If you're not sure how they feel about the town, ask someone close to them first, or choose a gift that's about them rather than the place.
