About this marshall islands gift
The Republic of the Marshall Islands is a Pacific nation of atolls and islands, and its people are spread wider than the map suggests. Many Marshallese families live in the US, with large communities in places like Arkansas, Hawaii and Washington state, and a shirt that says Marshall Islands is a way to keep home close. It works for the cousin back from college, the grandparent who still thinks of Majuro or Ebeye as home, and the kid who's learning where the family comes from. Add the name of an atoll, a family name or a graduation year on the second line and it becomes personal. For reunions, church events and community celebrations, one design with everyone's name on their own shirt keeps a big group looking like one family. A mug or a hoodie suits the quieter days, when a reminder of the islands is all you want.
