About this mum gift
A mum is the one who keeps the calendar, remembers the dentist appointment, and somehow knows where the missing cleat is. In the UK, Ireland and Australia the word is mum rather than mom, so a shirt or mug that says mum fits the way this person talks about themselves and how the family talks about her. The gifts that land best are the ones that show you know her: her name or the kids' names on the second line, a year she became a mum, or a line that matches her sense of humor. A mug is a natural pick for the mum who starts every morning with coffee before anyone else is up. A hoodie suits the mum who is always cold at the sidelines of a football game, and a tee works for the weekend she spends doing the school run and the grocery run in the same outfit. For new mums, a baby onesie with mum printed on it is a sweet way to celebrate the first Mother's Day or the first year. Mothering Sunday in the UK falls in March, and Mother's Day in Australia is in May, so order a little early if you need it by then.
