About this muscatine gift
Muscatine is a river town in southeastern Iowa, and people who grew up there tend to stay proud of it wherever they end up. A Muscatine shirt is how they say so at a reunion, on a visit home, or on a road trip where nobody else has heard of the place. Because it's a small town, the shirt carries a lot of meaning: it's the place you say you're from when the answer is too long. For the transplant who misses home, a Muscatine mug is a quiet daily reminder. For a graduate heading off to college or a new job, a hoodie with the town name is a way of taking home along. Many designs leave room for a second line, so you can add a graduating class, a street, or a nickname the town uses. That extra line is what turns a place name into their place.
