About this portugal gift
Portugal is a small country with a long reach, and the people who feel that most are the ones living far from it. A Portuguese-American grandmother who still makes caldo verde, a cousin who went back for a summer in Porto, a friend who fell for the fado and the custard tarts: each of them carries a little Portugal around. A shirt with the word on it is an easy way to say where they come from, and it works for the game-day crowd, the family festival or just the drive to the grocery store. Many designs have a second line, so you can add a city like Lisbon or Porto, a village name, or the family surname. That turns a country name into a specific personal reference. For the homesick, a mug on the kitchen counter is a daily nod to home. For a new mom or dad with Portuguese roots, a baby onesie carries the heritage into the next generation.
