About this tamassee gift
Tamassee is a small unincorporated community in Oconee County, South Carolina, tucked into the foothills near the Blue Ridge, where the people who live there tend to know each other by face and by family name. A shirt with the town on it is the kind of thing a native carries to the far side of the country, or wears to the local Fourth of July, the church homecoming or the high school game. Because it's a small place, the people who love it most often moved away and came back, or left for a job and still call Tamassee home. A town shirt is a way to say where you're from without a long explanation. Add a family name or a year on the second line if you want it to mean something personal, since many of the best gifts for someone from a small town are the ones that only they and their neighbors would fully recognize.
