About this tijeras gift
Tijeras is a small village in the Sandía Mountain foothills east of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the people who grew up there tend to carry it with them wherever they go. A Tijeras shirt is how someone from there says so, whether that's at a reunion back home, a visit to see family, or a college dorm two states away. Because the name is short and distinctive, it reads clearly on a tee or hoodie without needing much else. Many people who leave a small place feel a pull toward a reminder of it, and a mug on a kitchen counter is a quiet way to say where they're from. If you're buying for someone who moved away, you can add a second line such as a graduation year, a street name or the word Strong, so the shirt feels chosen for them rather than picked from a souvenir rack.
