Vinalhaven Echo Stack kids dark tee

About this vinalhaven gift

Vinalhaven is an island town in Penobscot Bay, reached by ferry from Rockland, and most people who live there will tell you that the water sets the pace of life. Winters are quiet and boats are hauled out early, summers bring summer people and a crowd at the harbor, and the island's identity runs through lobstering, granite and a close community where everyone knows whose truck is whose. A Vinalhaven shirt is how someone who grew up there, or who spent a summer there and never got over it, carries the island with them. It works best for the person who has left and misses the ferry horn, for the island kid heading off to college, or for a visitor who wants a souvenir that isn't a generic lighthouse. Add the year they were born there, a family name or a second line with the harbor they fish from, and the shirt stops being a place and becomes theirs. A mug suits the kitchen table in the city apartment, and a hoodie is the thing they'll reach for on the first cold morning back in Maine.
