About this apalachin gift
Apalachin is a small village in Tioga County, in the Southern Tier of New York, and the people from there tend to be proud of it in a quiet, rooted way. Many of them grew up here, went to the local school, and came back or never left. A shirt with Apalachin on it is how they say where they're from, whether that's at a family reunion, a visit to a relative's, or a trip to a bigger town where nobody has heard of the place. For someone who's moved away, a mug with the village name is a small daily reminder of home. For a kid growing up there, a tee or onesie gives them a hometown to wear before they understand what a hometown is. Add the year they were born or the year the family moved in, and the design starts to feel like theirs.
