About this cashier gift
Cashiers spend their shifts on their feet, scanning, bagging, making change and smiling at people who are having a bad day. The gifts they tend to keep are the ones that acknowledge the job without being a joke about it. A soft tee for the drive in, a hoodie for the cold walk to the parking lot, a mug for the break room so their coffee doesn't disappear. Cashiers often work the register at a store, a diner, a pharmacy or a gas station, and the work shows up in small ways: the rhythm of the scanner, the cash drawer count at close, the regulars they know by name. A cashier shirt with their name on it tells them someone noticed. Add the place they work only if you're sure of the name, and keep the design simple. What lands best is the feeling of being seen for work that usually goes unnoticed.
