About this clinical instructor gift
A clinical instructor is the person who stands next to a nursing or allied health student during their first real patient care, usually after years of working the floor themselves. They juggle their own patient load, a stack of evaluations and a student who is terrified of the IV pump, often all in the same shift. What tends to land with them is something that acknowledges that dual role: a tee for the clinical site, a hoodie for the cold conference room where the debrief happens, or a mug for the coffee they drink standing up between patients. Adding their credential, such as their credential or the program they teach for, makes it feel earned rather than generic. Keep the second line specific to the work, like their specialty or unit, and it reads as a gift from someone who understands what they do. Clinical instructors also tend to be gracious about giving credit to others, so a team design for the whole teaching group can be a welcome change of pace.
