About this dowagiac gift
Dowagiac is a small city in Cass County, Michigan, and people who grew up there tend to carry the name with them. A shirt with Dowagiac on it is how a former resident tells a stranger where they're from, and it's how a current resident shows they're proud of a town that's easy to overlook. Small towns like this often mean a lot of people know each other, so a gift that says Dowagiac lands as a little piece of home. It suits the graduate heading off to college, the family member who moved away and misses the hometown, or the neighbor who has lived there forever. Add a second line such as a graduation year, a street, or a high school class and the shirt becomes specific to them. A mug works well for the person who's far from home and wants a daily reminder of where they started.
