About this elm creek gift
Elm Creek is a small place name, and the people who carry it tend to hold on to it hard. Someone who grew up in Elm Creek, or who still goes back for family and holidays, knows exactly what the name means: the main street, the school they went to, the people who waved from pickup trucks. A shirt or mug with the town name is a way of saying that. It works best when you add a detail only a local would recognize, like a graduating class year, a high school mascot or the street they grew up on, in the second line. For someone who moved away, a mug on the kitchen counter is a small daily reminder of home. For a hometown kid heading off to college, a hoodie with the town name and the year they left is something they'll wear on campus and feel proud of.
