About this manufacturing intern gift
A manufacturing intern is usually early in the job, learning the floor one shift at a time. They're probably in steel-toe boots, safety glasses and a hard hat, and they've figured out that the line runs on people who ask good questions and show up on time. A gift that acknowledges the work, like a shirt they can wear to the plant or a mug for the first coffee before a shift, tells them someone noticed they're starting out. Interns are often building a résumé and a network at the same time, so a hoodie with their name and the program year becomes something they'll wear through the summer and maybe for years after. Add their first name, the plant or company year, or the program they're in, and it stops being a generic work shirt and becomes theirs. If you're shopping for a whole intern class, one design with each person's name on their own shirt is a fun way to mark the cohort.
