About this mccurtain gift
McCurtain is a name that points most people to a place: McCurtain County, the far southeastern corner of Oklahoma, where the Kiamichi Mountains meet the Ouachita country and the Red River runs along the Texas border. A county that size is home to people whose families have been there for generations, and a shirt with the name on it is how they tell the rest of the world where they're from. For someone who grew up in McCurtain County and now lives somewhere else, a tee or mug with the name is a quiet way of saying home. For someone who still lives there, a hoodie for the cold mornings or a mug for the kitchen table does the same. Add a second line with a town name or a graduation year to make it theirs, and it stops being a souvenir and becomes a piece of where they come from.
