About this portales gift
Portales is a small city in eastern New Mexico, and people who grew up there tend to carry it with them. A shirt with the town name is how a former resident waves the flag at a reunion, a rodeo or a visit home, and it's a good match for anyone who's spent years explaining where they're from. Because the place is small, a Portales shirt often reads as something only a few people will recognize, which is part of the appeal. Pair the town name with a graduation year, a high school class or a family name in the second line, and it becomes a keepsake rather than a souvenir. A mug suits the relative who still keeps up with local news from a long way off, and a hoodie works for the cold mornings that make anyone miss a warmer home.
