About this prudence island gift
Prudence Island is a small island in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island, and people who live there or spend summers there tend to be fiercely attached to it. A shirt with the island's name is how they claim it, whether they're wearing it on the ferry, at a dock in the harbor or three states away in a landlocked town. Because the island is small and quiet, a gift that names it feels personal in a way a generic shore shirt never does. It works especially well for someone who grew up there, someone who summers there with family, or a friend who keeps talking about the place. Add a second line for a year they first visited or a family name, and it becomes a keepsake. A mug is a good pick for the person who starts every morning with the bay in view, and a kids tee or onesie can start a family tradition before the kids can even read the name on it.
