About this quetzal gift
The quetzal is a bird most people only meet in photos, and that's part of its appeal. Its long, flowing tail feathers and metallic green plumage make it one of the most striking birds in Central America, and it's the national bird of Guatemala, where it also appears on the national currency. People who love birds, travel to cloud forests or simply like things that look a little unreal tend to be delighted by a quetzal design. A shirt or hoodie with the word quetzal lets the wearer carry that bit of wonder into ordinary days. For a birder or a naturalist, a mug is a quiet nod to the trip they've been planning. For a new parent or someone with a bright, uncommon name, a baby onesie with quetzal on it says the same thing: pick something that's a little bit extraordinary. Add a second line for a trip, a species name or a year, and the design becomes a record of the moment.
