About this shokan gift
Shokan is a small hamlet in Ulster County, New York, set along the Esopus Creek near the Ashokan Reservoir in the Catskills. People who live there tend to be proud of a quiet town where the mountains come right down to the water and the roads are mostly two lanes. A gift for someone from Shokan works best when it speaks to that sense of place: a shirt for hiking trips up Overlook Mountain, a hoodie for the cold months when the valley gets its first snow, or a mug for the morning coffee on the porch. Because the name is less familiar than a big city, it often sparks conversation, so a design that says Shokan can be a small reminder of home for someone who has moved away. Add a second line with the year they were born or the year they moved, and the gift becomes personal to their own story of the place.

- A hoodie for cold valley morningsShokan winters are long, so a warm hoodie with the town name is something they will reach for every day from November through March.
- A mug for the one who moved awayAn 11 oz mug with Shokan on it gives a homesick former resident a daily reminder of the creek and the mountains.
- A kids tee for the local crewPut Shokan on a kids shirt for a young one growing up in the hamlet, and pair it with a matching adult design for the family photo.
