About this supervisor learning gift
A supervisor who's learning the job is caught between two worlds: they're still getting used to giving feedback, running a schedule and answering to their own boss, while the team is watching to see whether they're any good. Gifts for someone in that spot should feel like encouragement rather than a joke about the job. A soft tee they can wear on a day off, a hoodie for early shifts, or a mug for the first cup of coffee before the day's first meeting all say you noticed they're working at it. Put a second line on the design, such as their team, department or the year they started supervising, so the gift reflects this particular stretch of their career. Many people in this position are also studying for a certification or finishing a course, so the year or a short line about the program can make the gift feel like it's about their progress, not just their title.
