About this tug boat captain gift
Tugboat captains spend long shifts in cramped wheelhouses, guiding barges and container ships through harbors in every kind of weather, often before the sun is up. The gifts that land with them tend to be practical and a little rugged: a warm hoodie for the cold deck and a mug that's clearly theirs, so it doesn't end up in the galley with everyone else's. A shirt with their title on it is a good way to say you see the work, and it's easy to make personal. Add the name of the tug, the company, or the harbor they work, and the shirt stops being generic and becomes theirs. If you're buying for a whole crew, the Team Shop lets you order one design with each person's name on their own shirt, which tends to get more use than another round of coffee. Crews who work on the water often wear their gear hard, so dark shirts and hoodies are a solid choice for wear on and off the boat.
